Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United States. In 2001, she established The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the business to NRT for $66 million. Shortly thereafter, she exited from the company. Corcoran is among ABC's first Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared in every season of Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence was her mother. She was an exemplary household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran's childhood. In times, her family relied on the delivery of food for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially after the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran was a struggle in school, and eventually discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at a Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
